Charleston and the lowcountry are famed internationally for their cuisine and food culture, from the region’s historically abundant seafood to its modern craft beer and restaurant scenes.
Oysters, shrimp and other seafoods are at the core of many of Charleston’s most popular food festivals, including the huge Lowcountry Oyster Festival, with other southern food festivals focused on BBQ, sweet tea and Cajun and Creole foods.
Annual restaurant weeks provide an opportunity to sample the best of Charleston’s restaurants for a fixed price, with other events too, including the Taste of Black Charleston and the Charleston Wine + Food Festival, celebrating the city’s most exceptional chefs and restaurants.
