December can be a great month to visit Myrtle Beach provided you’re not coming for the sand and the sea. Crowds are much lower than in summer (and accommodation prices are lower too), but there is still lots to do.
December weather can often be sunny and warm enough for hiking, golfing and other outdoors activities, and if not, there is an abundance of places to shop, and indoor shows and entertainment to enjoy.
Myrtle Beach events in December include holiday lights shows, Christmas concerts, holiday entertainment series and the New Year’s Eve fireworks displays. There are also several holiday festivals and parades.
Holiday shopping events, arts and crafts shows, tree lighting ceremonies, holiday bar crawls and charity events round out Myrtle Beach’s December calendar, with many more events and things to see in Charleston, a couple of hours away, if you feel like a day away from the Grand Strand.
