December can be an excellent month to visit Myrtle Beach, provided you’re not coming for the sand and the sea. Crowds are significantly smaller than in the summer (and accommodation can be found for lower prices too), but there are still plenty of things to do.
The weather in December is often sunny and mild, making it suitable for outdoor activities like hiking and golfing. In the event of cool or rainy days, there are plenty of places to shop, or indoor shows and activities to enjoy instead.
Myrtle Beach events in December include holiday lights shows, Christmas concerts, holiday entertainment series and the New Year’s Eve fireworks displays. There are also several holiday festivals and parades.
Holiday shopping events, arts and crafts shows, tree lighting ceremonies, holiday bar crawls and charity events round out Myrtle Beach’s December calendar, with many more events and things to see in Charleston, a couple of hours away, if you feel like a day away from the Grand Strand.
